Conductive Keratoplasty

Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) is an FDA approved minimally invasive procedure for the treatment of farsightedness and presbyopia. CK does not involve cutting or removal of tissue, and is performed in the office with only topical anesthesia. The surgery is painless and only takes a few minutes with an almost immediate improvement in near vision. A small probe, thinner than a human hair, uses radiofrequency energy to reshape the cornea of one eye. Traditionally, one eye is treated for near vision tasks and the other untreated eye is used for distance, creating a blended type of monovision.

The ideal CK candidate would be 40 years old or older, have no significant change in vision or eyeglasses prescription within the past year and have good distance vision without glasses.
