Blepharoplasty

Over time, many people develop excess eyelid skin. Eyelid skin is the thinnest skin of the body, so it tends to stretch. In the upper eyelid, this stretched skin may limit your side vision and make you look and feel tired. The excess skin in the upper eyelids can be removed surgically by a procedure called Blepharoplasty. If "bags" are present from excess fatty tissue, they can also be removed at the same time. Blepharoplasty is an outpatient procedure and may be covered by insurance if the visual field is decreased. The procedure is performed in our operating rooms with local anesthesia and light sedation. Botox

Botox is a medicine that was initially developed by an ophthalmologist. It has been used extensively for a variety of conditions, including facial wrinkles, eyelid twitching and spasm, facial spasm and spastic entropion (which causes inward turning of the eyelid). Botox is FDA approved and is very effective for these treatments. The effect of the medication begins in one to four days and lasts for three to four months. Blepharospasm and facial spasm Botox treatments are usually covered by insurance. Botox is especially useful for wrinkles adjacent to the eyes, such as crow's feet, frown lines between the eyebrows, and the lines on the forehead. The benefit of the treatment begins in one to two days and lasts three to four months.

Restylane

Restylane is an FDA approved dermal (skin) filling agent. It is used to replace lost volume and restore more youthful contours to the skin. Restylane can smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial fold from the nose to the corner of the mouth. Restylane is also used to make lips fuller and soften the wrinkles that develop around the mouth. You will notice an immediate response after treatment that usually lasts five to six months.

Latisse®

Latisse® solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker. Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes. Latisse is believed to prolong the anagen phase (active growth phase). The onset of effect with Latisse solution is gradual. In the clinical trial, the majority of Latisse users saw significant improvement by 2 months. Only Latisse has been approved by the FDA as a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes.
